The AVSD1 Step Drill Bit is purpose-built for creating clean, professional mounting holes with recessed heads in holster and sheath builds. Engineered to drill both the pilot hole and the head recess in a single pass, this bit ensures consistent, repeatable results that reduce installation time and improve finished appearance.

Crafted from high-speed steel (HSS), the AVSD1 delivers sharp, reliable cuts in thermoplastic materials like Kydex, Holstex, Boltaron, and PVC. It’s ideal for custom makers who use slotted posts, Chicago screws, TLMAB mounting hardware, or similar fasteners. The two-step design produces a 0.205 inch pilot hole with a 0.430 inch recessed head pocket, creating a flush-fit for mounting screws and posts.

This tool is not intended for use on metal or steel but performs exceptionally well on plastic sheet materials used in knife sheaths, gun holsters, and custom gear.
