Richlite is incredibly durable. It’s made from recycled paper which is dyed and infused with thermosetting resin and pressed into solid panels.
It comes in 5 different solid colours – Black Diamond, Maple Valley, Blue Canyon, Redstone, Chocolate Glacier.
It comes in 3 different multi-layered colours – Luna (chocolate glacier/browns point/maple valley), Glacier (black diamond/browns point), Eldorado (maple valley/browns point).

  • Its very durable and can withstand heavy use without warping, cracking, or splitting.
  • It is water resistant and naturally resists moisture, making it ideal for knife scales. Its non-porous, so you don’t need to finish them. You can wax them, but it will eventually wear off.
  • It has a warm, smooth feel with excellent hand traction.
  • Very low maintenance and it is easy to clean, doesn’t require oiling or sealing.

Richlite is incredibly durable. It’s made from recycled paper and infused with thermosetting resin and pressed into solid panels.
1/4″ comes in 5 different solid colours – Black Diamond, Maple Valley, Blue Canyon, Redstone, Chocolate Glacier.
3/8″ come in 1 solid colour – Black Diamond.
5/16″ – comes in 3 different multi-layered colours – Luna (chocolate glacier/browns point/maple valley), Glacier (black diamond/browns point), Eldorado (maple valley/browns point).

Richlite has been around since the 1940’s and is trusted by knife makers, professional chefs, guitar makers, furniture makers, kitchen cabinet makers and is also used as exterior cladding in high end construction. Its easily machinable and you can cut it on a table saw or bandsaw. It drills well and you can also tap it too.

When sanding/grinding you will need to work slowly with sharp abrasives. Well worn sanding belts at high speeds will likely cause burn spots which are more noticeable on the lighter coloured materials.  Fresh abrasives at slow speed and dunking frequently in water will give you a nice clean finish without burning the material.  Sanding/grinding is similar to hard wood.
